Today, as I look back over the past two years since my memoir Flight from Reason was published, I am filled with gratefulness for the opportunities I have had to meet so many people and families whose lives have been affected by mental illness. It has been a privilege to hear their stories and to encourage them in any way I can. But most of all, I am thankful to have found a vital connection with mothers, just like me, who share a passion for mental health advocacy and make every effort to assist their loved ones in reaching their highest possible level of recovery.
